Sloane is 1! We had a fun birthday party with our playgroup friends to celebrate with a "Pi Day Party!" (Pi Day being March 14... 3.14... Sloane's birthday)
We blew bubbles.
Dug in the sand
Ran around... and just generally had fun.
Sloane mostly enjoyed hanging with Blake. Isn't that how first birthdays go?
She did get down to play just a bit before lunch. (She looks excited, right?)
Here are a few snapshots of the decor and food.
Mint citrus water for the moms and juice for the kiddos.
A banner in the front window.
Little chef aprons as favors for all the kids.
Butterfly and Star sandwiches. Sloane happened to LOVE these... she ate 3 halves all on her own.
Some delicious chicken salad (of which I can take NO credit).
We snagged a few pictures before letting the birthday girl get messy. Love love love her!
Digging into lunch
Finally, dessert! What else would we serve on Pi day, but pie?!
Key lime pie and "mud pie" (ahem, chocolate pie topped with oreos and gummy worms and juice filled bugs, of course.)
Happy Birthday, Sloane!
She got to have some of both kinds of pie, and I can't say she had a favorite. Both were gone by the time we got her out of her chair.
We learned one lesson though... Key lime pie is VERY sticky. She was completely coated in lime flavored glue, so an immediate bath was in order.
It was such a fun day celebrating our sweet girl. Thanks to all who joined us!
