The Safari Park with the playgroup.
Egan and Marshall playing air hockey. If there is air hockey, somehow these two always locate it.
Chick-fil-a with buddies! Marshall and Egan eating after a long morning playing. I don't think either of them said 3 words.
Lots of afternoons spent in our backyard pool...
with water guns!
We've taken lots of silly pictures to send to daddy… usually while we are trying to pass the afternoon till he comes home.
Took an adventure through our backyard and also through our neighbor's and into their front yard to watch the street torn apart. It's not creepy at all for us to sit there on a bench and watch, right?
Sloane learned to sit in a big chair.
And play the drums.
There was more time in the pool...
with a new big water gun we found on clearance at target.
Sloane and I watched as we typically do.
Ate popsicles! And went to Chick fil a for cow appreciation day. We even saw 3 other families we knew there… all dressed as cows.
Unfortunately my cousin passed away, so we spent a day visiting with family where we got to see my Mimi and lots of others who don't live nearby. We were sad to be making the trip under the circumstances, but always love seeing those we don't often get to spend time with.
Blake has been working a conference, which has meant lots of hours at work, so last night meant Peter Pan and popcorn before bed.
Sloane learned to kick and really use that bouncy seat.
We took more silly pictures to send to daddy.
And phew… someone woke up super early from her last nap… which meant a LOOOOOONG stretch before bed. She didn't make it.
A new day… a new picture to send to daddy.
We also made some cardboard race tracks for Egan to drive his cars on.
And eventually, we broke out a kit to build this air powered car.
I helped him build it, but he has had a blast pumping it up and sending it sailing across the floor. What a fun toy!
And finally, if you've ever had to put Egan to bed, you know about "Jeremiah". He is Egan's frog lovie… named by Blake (Jeremiah the Bullfrog). Egan sleeps with him every night, and has since he was just a little older than Sloane. Don't tell him, but there are actually two that we rotate. I think he figured that out at one point when he yelled from his room that he wanted the "real Jeremiah" not the "other Jeremiah". I thought for sure he would then refuse Jeremiah forever, but somehow I convinced him that "other Jeremiah" was in fact "real Jeremiah". It's important that both are never in sight at the same time. Anyway, we thought it was time that Sloane had her own lovie, so I picked this up at the store yesterday. Well, actually I got two so we have a spare. When I got home and showed one to Egan, he instantly said, "Look, It is Sloane's Jeremiah!" We let him know that only he had Jeremiah, and that we'd call Sloane's blanket Alice. So, welcome to the family, Alice (and Alice 2.)
It's been a crazy month here to say the least, but this should get us all caught up! Thankful for the ever present iPhone to keep up with snapshots of everyday life!

We were long overdue for some new pictures of Egan, so I took him outside while Sloane was napping the other day and bribed him to smile with some jelly beans. It worked.
As you can see from these pictures, he's growing up, but what you can't see is his sweet heart and quick wit. He's always saying something that keeps us on our toes, and he loves his sister with all that he has. He is quick to sing to her, replace her paci, give her lots of snuggles, and smother her with kisses. We are far from perfect in our family, but we have been blessed with two amazing kids. Egan also loves his friends and asks daily to see them… many times running up and hugging them when he sees them. The best part? I don't think I taught him any of those things. It is just who he is!
Like all three year olds, he has a silly side too… which I think is just as great.

And, here's Sloane's first time to get to "bounce" (because there wasn't much actual bouncing going on.)
Egan thought it was so fun to see her standing up, and Sloane thought it was so fun to be face to face with Egan. He may need to learn she's got quite the grip!
Gosh, I love these two sweet kids.

Oh, this sweet girl. She knows how to keep us on our toes! She started out as such a good little sleeper. I guess over the last month with us being out of town, we pushed her a bit much and all our sleep began to suffer. So, we are just shy of a week with her on a fairly strict schedule, and I have to say… it has made a huge difference in her attitude and sleep. Funny thing is, Egan was the exact same way. Why did I think I could be more relaxed with her? I don't know, but I'm sold. A happy baby makes a happy house. We aren't totally back on track at night, but we are getting there. Hopefully soon! (Update since writing… she's sleeping much more at night! Go Sloane!)
Anyway, here's my little sweetie today. She has gotten so smiley and talkative. She's even LOUD (in a happy way) sometimes!
And, here are Sloane's delayed three month pictures on her blanket. No matter what Egan and I did, she was not. going. to. smile. Oh well, maybe next month!
We've been a bit (or a lot) under the weather here lately. I got sick last week which had me down most of the week. Then, Egan followed right behind me. Needless to say, we've been home… a lot. Egan finally started feeling better, so today we did lots of fun stuff. During one of Sloane's naps, we did some painting.
Where we learned that blue paint plus yellow paint makes… GREEN!
Egan also asked if we could make some hand prints, so we did.
Egan smiling… sort of… with his work of art. This is why I keep various pieces of cardboard handy!
We also did some water play today. In my box 'o' tricks, I found an empty glue bottle. Egan thought that was a pretty fun water gun. (That was this morning.) Then, this afternoon, he got back in the water with what I think is possibly the best happy meal toy ever. It's a little double barrel water gun that we got from Sonic a little while ago. Egan loves it. I love that he can refill it on his own.
It's been fun times here today!
