We survived the dino invasion...

...the dino invasion known as Egan's 2nd birthday!
(Also, get ready for picture overload!)
IMG_2789.jpg
Egan had a blast, and didn't stop running and playing the ENTIRE time. He wouldn't even stop to eat! Why would he when he's got his best buds in his backyard to play?
The kids got to dig for "fossils" in the sand. (Also known as small plastic dinos.)

Here's Egan and his buddy Lauren. Look at all the tiny dinos she's got lined up on the side of the sandbox!

A few of the little tykes...
IMG_2793.jpg

The kids (or moms) made dino hats! Some kids wore them proudly, some weren't the least bit interested. That's how it goes, right?
IMG_2794.jpg

This is the first of the 2nd generation of playgroup kids, Landry. Isn't she sweet? Our playgroup has had quite the population explosion with LOTS of new babies!
IMG_2796.jpg

We served Stegosaurus brains (Peanuts) as a snack. The big kids thought they were so fun!

IMG_2798.jpg

Egan and Jake, the sliders, well... they slid. ALOT.
IMG_2801.jpg

We had a whole assortment of Dino themed food including Dino Nuggets...
IMG_2802.jpg

PB&Josauraus Sandwiches (oops, upside down)
IMG_2803.jpg

Dino Scales (chips)
IMG_2805.jpg

Brontosaurus Burgers... among other things.

Next up, cake time!
IMG_2809.jpg

We had a giant chocolate dino cake!
IMG_2821.jpg

IMG_2822.jpg

And cupcakes!
IMG_2824.jpg

And Dino eggs in assorted flavors. My personal fav is buttered popcorn. YUM!

IMG_2829.jpg

Everyone gathered around to sing to Egan.
IMG_2832.jpg

He wasn't so sure what to do with all the attention. Everyone was singing to HIM?!?
IMG_2837.jpg

Then he blew out the candles. He did pretty good, but after a few puffs, daddy helped him.
IMG_2843 (1).jpg

Success!

IMG_2852.jpg

This is the face of one VERY tired boy and his daddy.
IMG_2860.jpg

(Who was also pretty tired.)
IMG_2863.jpg

Everyone enjoying their cake. Sidenote: check out the left side of this picture. That would be my tomato plants growing out the bottom of that bucket. We like it super classy here. It also has basil and cilantro growing in the top, but they are still too small to see. I've already got at least 5 small tomatoes growing on one of the plants and I think I'll have some soon on the other! Yay for small successes. (More on this later.)
IMG_2864.jpg

Nothing better than sugar right before bedtime!
IMG_2867.jpg

IMG_2870.jpg

Egan chose chocolate cake over vanilla cupcake, but it didn't matter because all he wanted to eat were the strawberries.
IMG_2874.jpg

IMG_2875.jpg

At least that was all he would eat until he got a bit of the icing on his arm and he licked it off.
IMG_2883 (1).jpg

The party was so much fun and we are so thankful for everyone that was able to come and make our little boy's day special!
IMG_2885 (1).jpg

We had a little after party where Egan got to open all the cool gifts since we didn't get to that during the actual party.
IMG_2896.jpg

Here Uncle Sean is explaining the new vet kit.
IMG_2899 (1).jpg

The rest of us relaxed for a bit!

IMG_2909.jpg

IMG_2910.jpg

He also got some super awesome dinos from Uncle Sean and his girlfriend, Amanda.
IMG_2912.jpg

IMG_2914.jpg

IMG_2915.jpg

He got quite a few other fun things that somehow didn't make it in the pictures... including a Mr. Potato head, cars, lion head blanket (that he has decided is his new cape and he runs around the house with it on his head), golf set (thanks Uncle Eric and Aunt Amanda, the dogs both really love that... ha!), a real astronaut suit with hat and astronaut food, and a new project for mommy and daddy... backyard playset! He's also got a great start to his saving account as well as some new clothes. He is one incredibly blessed little boy to have such great extended family and friends. Thanks everyone!
