We are, by no stretch of the imagination finished with the kitchen, but we are back to functional. We are also to the end of Blake's week off. I am happy to report that we got everything done that we planned to do.
Here's a reminder of what kind of mess we had last Friday.

Oh, and Saturday.

I'm overwhelmed just looking at those pictures.
By Monday evening, we had most of the cabinets in place thanks to all the help we had, so after Egan went to stay with his grandparents, Blake and I went out for a sno-cone.
Tuesday morning, we finished installing the remaining cabinets.

Still messy, but has come a long way since the previous day.

Here's a shot without Blake walking through the middle of it.

We had a deadline of Tuesday because that is when the granite people needed to come measure in order to install on Friday. After all that work, it took him less than 10 minutes to measure. It felt a bit anti-climatic!
Wednesday, I measured and cut all the cabinet liner. It only took 2 trips to the store to get enough. That task took way longer than expected and was not a bit fun. It is done though.
Finally, we got the floor vacuumed and mopped and then mopped again, which was no small task. We also measured for cabinet pulls and decided what we'd need for under cabinet lighting and ordered it.
Finally, Friday rolled around and the granite rolled up.

That is the truck out in the street.
I didn't want to be the annoying lady with the camera to people I didn't know, so I just snapped this picture with my phone.

After they finished, Blake got to work installing the new faucet and the drain into the sink. Here he is with his little smiling helper.

I'm so glad I have such a handy husband!

Since the granite was installed, we've been working hard at moving all our stuff back into the kitchen. We aren't quite done with that, but I cleaned up the kitchen enough today to take a few pictures. Bo is pretty proud.

(The blue tape you see on the cabinets are measurements for cabinet pulls.)

Possibly the thing that I am most excited about is the sink.

Sounds silly, I know, but I love that it is a single super deep basin and a tall faucet. It is a major improvement over our cheap-o stained "stainless" sink. It never looked clean.
This one is for my mom mostly. A closeup of the granite!

So, still a lot of work to do installing hardware, under cabinet lights and backsplash, and also repairing the floor tile, painting the baseboards, fixing the sheetrock behind the frig, and a long list of other tasks, but we are a lot closer than we were last week!
