you win some, you loose some.

First, I'll start with the win.

The other night I made stromboli. I made it from scratch... sort of. The dough did come from a can, but it wasn't cooked prior to me putting it in the oven. Plus, I did put all the ingredients together. Homemade! All that said, Blake and I thought it was good.
Sunday all my cooking success went WAY DOWNHILL. Fast.
This is what I was aiming to make...

This is why mine turned out like...

I know, sad. I'll never make cake balls again. Here, I thought they'd be so easy and fun... I was wrong. Next time I'll stick with cupcakes. I think they will be much easier.
This adventure also resulted in two additional trips to the store... for Blake to get additional supplies.
In the end I had "treats" that tasted like packaged ho-hos except uglier and soggier. I also had a kitchen that looked like this...

... such a mess.
You win some, and you lose some.

  1. You're too hard on yourself. I'll admit, some were sketchy looking, but I ate those ones. They were really good! And better than Ho-Ho's. Except not as much fun as a Ho-Ho b/c I like to eat the ends off of Ho-Ho's and then unroll them, but I digress. Your cake footballs were great.
