Happy 3 weeks old, Egan!

Today, Egan turns 3 weeks old. These 3 weeks have flown by for sure and our little guy is getting bigger every day! Egan is a true joy to us and is already showing his personality more and more.

What's a post without new pictures? / Happy due date, Egan!

April 25... Today is Egan's due date, but he made his debut 18 days ago. He's grown and changed quite a bit since that day. He's a night owl like his dad and doesn't like to go to sleep till after midnight. These days I prefer to be in bed long before that. Also, we are working to convince Egan that he'd really prefer to sleep in his bed rather than his car seat. So far, he's winning.

Ready for some newish Egan pictures? These were taken a few days ago, but I haven't had a chance to get them on the computer till recently. there were a lot more, but these 2 caught my eye. The first because, how can I resist that face? and the second because bo wanted his picture taken as well, so I humored him this time.

Settling in

Just thought I'd post a quick update. We're settling in here at home. Egan is doing great and we're doing good too. This whole being a parent thing is truly more than a full time job! We're doing our best to get as much sleep as possible, and Blake is getting broken in quickly with learning to change diapers. I don't think that is his favorite part of being a dad though. Egan has been a champ and let us go out to eat on Friday night and didn't make a peep the entire time.
He's also been to babies r us, target, best buy and sams. He's really been getting around town! Really... I just can't handle being trapped inside any more. It's spring time after all. Anyway, I do have some new photos to post, believe me. I'll get to that soon enough. For now, I'll just keep taking them. Until next time...

Egan's 1st week

This week has been a crazy one. Staying up late, getting up early, getting up again after that. We have done our best to take as many pictures as possible so that even if you haven't seen him, you can experience a bit of Egan's first week with us. And, you don't have to change a diaper or soothe his crying to do it. Sit back and enjoy these few pictures. I am sure more will be on their way soon, once Whitney has a chance to catch up on some sleep.

At home...

Just thought I'd post a quick update and let everyone know that we are home and all is well. We got to come home Thursday afternoon and it seems like we haven't had a free second since. I'm super excited to be back in the comfort of our own home without nurses and doctors everywhere. Egan is the sweetest baby I know and the cutest if I do say so myself. He is keeping the 2 of us super busy, but we are loving every second of being with our snuggly little boy.
I promise we have taken pictures, but I haven't had any time to sit down at the computer. Any free time, I'd rather spend sleeping than downloading pictures. Haha.
Bo is adjusting fine to his new little brother. Most of the time he just ignores him. He really doesn't like to hear him cry though. I think that causes some stress. I guess that is one thing he'll have to get used to.

Ps- if you've called or emailed us and we haven't gotten back to you, please understand we'd like to get back to you, but if you haven't heard, there is a new kid in town, and we think he's pretty cool.

Hey! I just wanted to take a minute to let everyone know that as of 2:46 PM we have become parents! Egan Joeb was born weighing in at 6 lbs. 12 ounces. More will follow, but for now here is a picture to tie you over.

37 weeks and an end in sight

Yesterday made 37 weeks for our little guy, and that means he is officially full term. I am excited about that for sure. I've been here for a little over 2.5 weeks and am ready to get this show going. The doctor did a sonagram on Thursday afternoon and said everything looks great. Our little boy is doing lots of "practice breathing" which sounds strange to me. He also has plenty of fluid and everything as well. I'm getting better and better at being able to tell what I'm looking at on the sonagram. At 37 weeks, only a small part of the baby can be seen, but I've seen enough now that I'm getting it. It's nice!
In other news, the doctor has "drawn a line in the sand" (his words). His plan is to induce this week, more specifically Tuesday. I know that it could easily change to earlier or later because of the high blood pressure, so don't worry if you don't hear something because nothing may have happened yet. I'm getting excited though. Blake is getting the finishing touches done trying to have everything ready, but I'm sure he's excited too.

That is what is happening here... nothing... just playing the waiting game for a bit longer. Every day is somewhat like groundhog day. The same thing over and over.
That said, I don't have a lot to update on. I've been here for over 2 weeks now and on bed rest for four weeks total. I can say that I will be ready to be able to get up and move around some more. More to come when I have more to say.
