Egan: Wild animal trainer

Egan had his first encounter with a cat today. This cat was a bit different than the normal household variety, but he took it all in like a pro. See?
Yes, that is a white Siberian tiger cub he is sitting next to... and no, no photoshop was involved... and yes, it was real live and moving... just in case you were wondering.
The tiger was only 4 weeks old and wasn't really eating that hand in his mouth. He was sucking on it for comfort.

cute kids

Check out these cuties I got to photograph this afternoon. What such sweet sisters!

Temptation can be so cute

Today at church we used this white tiger cub to illustrate how temptation usually starts off innocently but grows into something that can destroy you. Here is a picture backstage of the little guy.

a house?!?

Just a bit of news to share...
We've been looking for a house here for a little while and this week we put an offer in on one! We still don't know if it is ours for sure or not yet, but things are looking good so far. Who knows, we could be homeowners soon!
More news to come!

He's a thoughtful one!

Look what Blake brought home last night. How sweet is he? I love fresh flowers, and even more that he thought of me in going to get them for me. He also brought my favorite ice cream home as well. Flowers, ice cream? It doesn't get any better than that. Thanks, Blake!

Longest day of the year

Look what I did! I love the longest day of the year. It is like the chicken Stonehenge.

New toy

Egan got a new toy today. He's not quite ready to use it for long periods of time, but he sure does look cute in it! We found this today at a second hand kids store.
By the way, if you know of a good place I should check out, comment and let me know about it! I'm all about good baby deals.

Egan's first big play date

Egan hosted his first big play date today with 2 friends from church, Maverick and Tegan. The moms had fun chatting about... you know... "mom stuff" and the babies all rotated between sleeping, eating, and well, other stinky baby stuff. It was so much fun!
Check out these cute kids.

Egan had so much fun that he was tuckered out by the end and needed to take a nap, so while he did that, Tegan checked out Maverick.

the proof is in the photo

You will have to excuse the not so good quality of this photo, but I had to post it. This is the first smile caught on the camera (except for this cute one of him sleeping, but I don't think he knew he was doing that.) You will also have to excuse the fact that it is after 12pm and he is still in his pjs. Oh well.

big boy!

We went in for Egan's 2 month check up last Thursday and all is well. He's grown A LOT! I think we may have a big boy after all! He now weighs 11lbs 2oz. I can't believe it!

2 months - Oh my!

Dear Egan,
You are now 2 months old and time is flying by faster than I'd like for sure. You have grown and changed so much in these last 2 months. We learn more about each other every day. You even recognize both your dad's and my voices and follow us with your eyes if we move around the room. You love to be held, but I don't complain about that much. I know there will be a day soon that you won't want a good snuggle so I will enjoy every second. You've started sleeping much better and are getting up less at night which makes things on me much easier. You've even started sleeping in your crib in your room!
You are the slowest eater I've ever seen. If you are in the mood, you can eat in about 30 minutes, but most of the time it is more like an hour. During the day you eat about every three hours and that is from the start of a feeding to the start of the next one. Most of our day is still revolving around you drinking milk.
The faces you make are priceless. I love watching all of them. When you are sad, you get a fat lower lip... and it quivers like crazy. When you are studying your environment, you have an amazing face of wonder. I love it!
You still love studying the black and white pictures on the wall, and you recently found the fan and like to watch it for a few seconds at a time. Nothing really lasts that long. Going to a store or out to eat has become more challenging because you like to watch people and all the action going on around you instead of just sleep like you have done in the past.
I think you are learning how your hands and feet work because you like to swing your arms wildly and kick your legs like crazy. You are getting pretty strong with those as well. You've even started putting a little weight on your legs when we stand you up.
Egan, you are a joy to your mom and dad and we love watching you grow.

(The not so happy to be laying on his own for "so long"... time to pick me up face.)

Google didn't work out this time

Look at what someone searched for and landed on our blog? I don't think they were successful... haha.

"a small picture of an old messed up alcatraz toilet"
I do have quite a few pictures on here, even one of Alcatraz when we were in San Francisco, but we never went there.

a new look

what do you think of the face lift? I added some stuff over on the right and will be adding more as I get time, but I need your help! If you have a blog, tell me the address! I'd like to add you to our list on the right. I also added the "followers" box. I don't know quite how that works yet, but if you have blogger and want to try that out... please do!
So, do me a favor. Click that little "comment" link below the post and tell me if everything is working correctly for you or if you can't see something. You can also just tell me how awesome I am. That will work too.

Like father, Like son.

Not a lot needing to be said here.
