I'm back!

I'm back in NYC for a couple of weeks for a work project, so all you NYC friends, (yes, all 2 of you that actually read this blog...) give me a call! We need to do dinner or something. I'm excited to be back and get to enjoy the city that has to much to enjoy!
For you folks back in TX, Blake is on his own while I'm away. I'm sure there will be plenty of xbox time happening there. Have fun, honey!
Alright, that's all I have as far as an update for tonight. In the morning, I hit the sidewalk... back to the crazy business world of NYC.

Sonic Hates Me

Every once in a while Whitney and I go to Sonic, a drive in restaurant that does everything in it's power to aggravate me. We have ben perhaps 3 to 5 times since we headed back to Texas. Each time, both Whitney and I have ordered Cherry Limeades, same size, same everything. Each time the drinks have been handed to me, and each time, Whitney's contains a cherry, and mine does not. I don't know if you are aware, but part o the charm of this drink is that when you are finished, there is a cherry ( albeit a candied cherry) that has been soaking in this sprite, cherry and lime juices. Sonic has seen fit to abandon tradition and start, what I can only see as a personal attack on me, the customer.

Well, I have had it with them and their playing favorites with cherries. I am no longer ordering said drink, and am serious reconsidering where to take my drive-in drink orders. If anyone has suggestions as to where I can order a cherry limeade with a cherry, I would greatly appreciate it. Until then, you are on notice Sonic.

Little late posting

Here is a photo that I took in the car during the long drive to tx. I
had to post it so everyone could see how full our car was. All that
stuff in the back plus go in my/Blake's lap the whole way. I've never
felt so close to my boys.

Only in Texas...

... Do you have a man meet you at the door of the grocery store, tell
you he will pick the best/fastest cart there is, wipe the selected
cart off with antibacterial wipes, and then dry it off for us.
Wow. You'd never find that in any other city we've lived in. I was
If that weren't good enough, once we got in the store, we saw the
scene in the photograph... A tortilla factory right in the middle of
the store. You can't see him in the picture, but there was a guy there
making tortillas. Fresh! We didn't get any today, but don't worry, we
plan on doing so at some point soon.
Only in Texas...

Settling In

Blake and I are working hard trying to get settled in our new place. We finally received all of our furniture and other belongings last wednesday. I am happy to not be living in an empty apartment anymore. I've never appreciated a sofa so much. (We didn't have a sofa all summer in California as one wouldn't fit in our car if we were to purchase one on Craig's List.)
My mom got stranded at the airport last week when my brother's job ran late, so I went to pick her up. She ended up staying the night and was a huge help unpacking my kitchen and lining my cabinets. She finally got to go home when my dad came to pick her up the next day. Thanks for your help! (I'm still not quite done with the kitchen... I've been working on it on and off... washing EVERYTHING I own before putting it in the cabinet. Believe me, it is as fun as it sounds.
Other than that, we have been on the search for a new tv cabinet/stand that will fit in the recessed area in our apartment. We've looked EVERYWHERE and finally found one at Pier 1 that we both like. I think it will look pretty cool once we get it and set everything up. By the way... since we have so many electronics, I used boxes to pack the cords and keep them all together. We have 2 boxes just of cords. I don't know anyone who should have that many... but for some reason we do. Crazy, crazy. Anyway, That's about all I have to say for now. Hopefully I'll be able to get some stuff hung on the walls and take some pictures of our new place in the coming week.
Till next time...

here and there

Just a few tidbits of info today.
  • We finally have internet in our new apartment. Yay! Still no furniture or the rest of our belongings.... but hopefully they will get here soon.
  • Bo likes all the space he has in his new apartment to run around.
  • When you roll/cram as many shirts into a suitcase as possible when you are moving... Everything is extremely wrinkled when you arrive. (I'm sorry Blake... I'll fix them for you so you don't have to iron everything before wearing it.)
  • Our new apartment has an ice maker, the first one I've had since living with my parents.
  • Our new mattress isn't as good as the one we got in June and then sold because we were moving. I called Overstock. They are supposed to fix it.
  • I'm leaving next week to go to NYC for a little over 3 weeks for a project. Nothing like moving into a new place only to leave a week later.
  • I'm looking forward to seeing my NYC friends! I've missed you guys!
  • I like Chick-fil-a.
That's all I have for now!

Here's Blake and his freebirds burrito. Freebirds is Blake's favorite.

Here, finally. And happy birthday to my husband.

We've made it here... And it just so happens to be Blake's birthday. So, happy birthday to my sweet husband. You mean more to me than you know and I'm happy that we got to celebrate you today. I could say a lot more, but my thumbs are already tired from typing on my tiny iPhone keyboard. Hopefully tomorrow we will have real Internet. We still won't have furniture, but we have each other... And bo. Who needs furniture?
I love you Blake!

Today's results

This is our mileage from our final fill up of the day. Pretty good right? Tomorrow, we pull into Dallas. Can't wait to be done driving.
